Welcome to the Second Annual PA Mathematics Teaching Summitt. We are so excited about continuing the legacy of this one-day conference that serves both Pre-Service Teachers and In-Service Teachers! This year we will enjoy meeting at the beautiful Carlow University in Pittsburgh for our conference. The program is amazing, filled with quality sessions and a Keynote Speaker, along with a poster presentation session this year. We will have teacher bags and door prizes again this year to give to attendees, a continental breakfast, and a Taco Bar Lunch with both chicken and beef prepared by the University food service!
As I have stated many times in the past, one of my favorite things about any conference is the face-to-face interaction that takes place and the sharing of educational practices which positively influence the success of the students we teach. Friendships bud and are renewed! The networking that takes place revitalizes our passions and energizes us as we look towards a new school year and the students we will teach. The interaction between Pre-Service Teachers and In-Service Teachers is also a very special growing time for all of us. I so enjoy interacting with Pre-Service Teachers and find their energy and excitement refreshes me. This is a time for In-Service Teachers to share with Pre-Service Teachers and provide them with encouragement and a boost in their learning curve as teachers. This is definitely an opportunity one cannot experience online and gives cause to attend an on-site conference like this.
Next year the PA Mathematics Teaching Summit will be held at Commonwealth University of PA on the Bloomsburg campus in Bloomsburg, PA.
I look forward to seeing you at the conference. Have an amazing school year this fall!

What an honor it is to welcome you to the 2026 PA Mathematics Teaching Summit! This Summit is truly a one-of-a-kind event, bringing together pre-service and in-service teachers for an inspiring day of learning, collaboration, and connection.
On behalf of the Pennsylvania Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (PAMTE), I am proud to support this event and grateful for our continued partnership with the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics (PCTM) in bringing this meaningful experience to life.
A special thank you goes to Carlow University for hosting this year’s Summit and to the dedicated planning committee for their tremendous efforts in creating an exceptional experience. Their care, creativity, and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of the day. From the keynote address by Michael Fierle to the variety of breakout sessions and the pre-service teacher poster session, the Summit offers countless opportunities to exchange ideas, gain new perspectives, and strengthen our collective commitment to mathematics education. My hope is that you leave feeling inspired, empowered, and eager to bring new ideas to life in your own classroom.
Of course, the door prizes and delicious meals are icing on the cake – ensuring you leave the event with full minds, full arms, and full bellies!
I look forward to connecting with you at this year’s Summit. It’s sure to be a fantastic day of learning, celebration, and community!
