The academic year of 2017-2018 marks another milestone in the history of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR), as it becomes an official subscriber to EBSCO Information Services. EBSCO, or Elton B. Stephens Company, is an online resource company based in Massachusetts, USA. They are the leading provider of research databases, journals, books, magazines and other library resources in electronic format for over 70 years.

Subscribing to EBSCO’s services is PCCR’s response to the challenge posed by 21st century learners, whose learning environment is characterized as technology-driven and outcomes-based. Faculty and student researchers now have access to online reference materials that would help them in the conducting institutional research and producing curriculum-mandated research output.

In order to orient the personnel of the Learning Resources and the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) divisions on the technical administration of the service, a demonstration was conducted by Mr. Josef Halos, Country Manager of EBSCO International, Inc. on October 30, 2017, at the PCCR EJB Library. Also present were representatives of the College of Criminology and the Research, Development & Publication Center so that they could cascade access procedures to faculty and students.
