Eduard M. Solomon/ February 22, 2017

The Philippine College of Criminology, on February 22, 2017, conducted a Consultative Meeting among the SHS and college students, parents, non-teaching personnel, alumni, faculty members, and school officials. The Meeting was headed by the VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Diosdado A. Amante and VP for Administration, Prof. Chiara L. Datu at the JFAB Multi-Purpose Hall.

The said meeting created a forum for discussion, transparency and accountability among the stakeholders of the school regarding the proposed increase in tuition fees and changes in student fees. VP Amante explained that the change in fees is for identifiable services provided by the institution and to provide reasonable value to students. VP Datu on the other hand presented the new curriculum for AY 2018-2019 and explained that the 15% increase in tuition fee and inclusion of additional fees is due mainly to the implementation of the new K-12 curriculum for 2018 and in consideration of the annual inflation rate.

This consultative meeting is pursuant to the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Memorandum No. 14, series of 2015 which specifically requires all colleges and universities nationwide to conduct a consultative meeting before applying for CHED’s approval of change in fees or increase in tuition fees.
