MANILA LAW COLLEGE HAILS ITS 7 NEW LAWYERS
A total of seven (7) graduates of the Manila Law College (MLC) passed the 116th Philippine Bar Examinations which were administered by the Supreme Court during the month of November 2017 at the University of Sto Tomas.
COLLEGE OF CRIMINOLOGY WELCOMES SECOND SEMESTER WITH A FACULTY ORIENTATION
The College of Criminology, headed by the Associate Dean and Program Head, Prof. Mandy G. Gonzales, spearheaded the Faculty Orientation for the second semester of Academic Year 2017-2018. The orientation seminar was held on December 1 at the VPAA Conference Room and was attended by tenured, full-time, and part-time faculty, including the newly-hired.
Joelay J. Coquilla Ranks 8th in the December 2017 Criminologist Licensure Examination (CLE)
JOELAY J. COQUILLA of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) ranked 8th in the recent Criminologist Licensure Examination (CLE) with an 88.55% rating, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday, January 12, 2018. Coquilla led the other 202 newly licensed Criminologists from PCCR.
PCCR Attends CHED Seminar Workshop on Gender Sensitivity Teaching
The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) sent delegates to the seminar-workshop, “Gender Sensitivity Teaching: Exploring a New Pedagogy”, organized by the Commission on Higher Education - National Capital Region (CHED-NCR) last November 22 and 23, 2017, at the Hotel Rembrandt, Quezon City. The seminar workshop which was attended by administrators and faculty of private higher education institutions in the NCR is part of CHED’s efforts to mainstream genderized curriculum, teaching and research across all disciplines.
PCCR Upgrades Learning Resources, Now an EBSCO Subscriber
The academic year of 2017-2018 marks another milestone in the history of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR), as it becomes an official subscriber to EBSCO Information Services. EBSCO, or Elton B. Stephens Company, is an online resource company based in Massachusetts, USA. They are the leading provider of research databases, journals, books, magazines and other library resources in electronic format for over 70 years.
PCCR RDPC Conducts Seminar-Workshop on Action Research
The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) Research, Development and Publications Center (RDPC) organized a two-day seminar-workshop entitled, “Writing Research in the IMRaD Format: Responding to the Publish or Perish Challenge for Higher Education Faculty,” as part of Phase 1 of the Research Capacity Building Program for Academic Year 2017-2018.

The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) conducted a benchmarking activity at the Cavite State University (CvSU) on October 18, 2017, during the celebration of CvSU’s Research and Extension Week.
2017 EJB Memorial Day Raises 330 Blood Bags
A total of 330 blood bags were collected during the 2017 EJB Memorial Day Bloodletting Activity conducted by the Philippine College of Criminology, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross and the GMA Kapuso Foundation and in coordination with the Rotary Club of Binondo Prime on September 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the PCCR JFAB Multi-Purpose Hall.
PCCR Conducts Seminar-Workshop on Research Process
The College of Criminology, in coordination with the Research Development and Publications Center, conducted a two-day research seminar-workshop entitled "The Research Process Annotated" last july 11 and 12, 2017, 8am to 5pm, at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel.
PCCR Launches G Suite Ambassador Program
On June 13, 2017, the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) launched the “PCCR G Suite Ambassador Program” with the aim of spreading knowledge and awareness within PCCR of Google's G Suite for Education platform, including its library of online productivity apps and the use of Chromebook computers. The program was developed and spearheaded by PCCR’s ICT division and was targeted at selected "Ambassador Candidates" from different organizational units.
PRC Board of Criminology Visits PCCR
Representatives from the Board of Criminology of the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) visited PCCR on July 10, 2017 to conduct a one-day regular visit of schools offering criminology program. The team, composed of Board Members Hon. George Fernandez, Hon. Ruben Sta. Teresita, and Ms. Aurora H. Mendoza of PRC-SID, were gladly welcomed by the President and Chairperson Dr. Ma. Cecilia B. Lim.
Florida Blanca D. Zita Ranks 8th in the June 2017 Criminology Licensure Examination
Florida Blanca D. Zita of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) ranked 8th in the recent Criminologists Licensure Examinations (CLE) with an 86.95% rating, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Friday, June 30, 2017. Zita led the other 123 newly licensed Criminologists from PCCR.
PCCR Conducts Research Capacity Training Workshop for Teaching and Non-Teaching Employees
The closing ceremonies of the Research Capacity Training Workshop was held on May 24, 2017 at the Learning Resources Mini Audio-visual Room of the EJB Building. On the same date, the training module, Research Technical Writing, was completed, with Dr. Mariann S. Delos Angeles as the guest lecturer. Dr. Delos Angeles is a researcher and consultant with international exposure, such as with the United Nations and the World Bank.
Philippine College of Criminology and Manila Law College 2017 Graduates Celebrate a Milestone
The historical PICC Reception Hall was once again a witness last May 15, 2017, to a memorable event for 482 graduates of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) and 35 graduates of the Manila Law College (MLC). Family members and other guests, some of them even came all the way from the provinces, talked quietly among themselves and readied their camera phones for the 60th Criminology and 115th Manila Law College Commencement Exercises.
Manila Law College Hails Its 37 New Lawyers
A total of thirty seven (37) students from the Manila Law College (MLC) passed the Philippine Bar Examination which was given by the Supreme Court on the four Sundays of November 2016 (6, 13, 20, and 27).
The new MLC lawyers were among the three thousand seven hundred forty seven (3,747) or 59.06% who passed the exams out of six thousand three hundred forty four (6,344) examinees, the highest in 16 years.

The Leaders for Excellence in Academics and Development or L.E.A.D. Party List headed by Patrick Angeles swept all 14 positions in the PCCR Council of Student Leaders (CSL) election held last March 17, 2017.
The Board of Canvassers were OSAS staff Ms. Gemil Mari Gayutin, Mr. Angila Relly and Ms. Melanie Buenaventura and students Aissa Shirine Quezon, Jhon Lester Tamayo, Aerica Viloria, Jhoan Avellano, Nicolai Ranola and Arjie Grajo.
PCCR OJT Immersion Program at the Hospicio de San Jose

The Delta Company of the PCCR Criminology OJT visited Hospicio de San Jose foster care institution in Manila last March 7, 2017. The theme of the immersion program is: “Recognize, Appreciate and Repay our Parents’ Love”. The fourth year students were accompanied by OTJ Coordinator, Prof. Mandy Gonzales and his assistant, Prof. Cholo Galindez. Prof. Rodel Rivera and the PCCR Band were also part of the team.

More than 2,000 students and employees paraded the streets of Sta. Cruz and Quiapo last February 16, 2017 to kick off the 63rd Anniversary Celebration of the Philippine College of Criminology with the theme” “PCCR@63: Celebrating, Remembering and Leading”. The parade, which is said to be one of the longest parades in the history of PCCR, was participated in by students from the high school and college departments, student organizations, and teaching and non-teaching staff.

Dr. Ma. Cecilia Bautista Lim, Chairperson of the Board and President of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) led the testimonial dinner given by PCCR to 210 newly licensed PCCR Criminologists on January 20, 2017 at the King Chef Restaurant in Lucky China Mall Binondo Manila. The testimonial dinner is meant to certify the honorees’ achievements, qualifications and excellence.
