(JANUARY 30, 2026) There is a new home for birds in Wilsonville. It is called the Coffee Lake Creek Wetlands.
For a long time, this land was dry. It only had weeds and dirt. There was no water for fish or birds.
In 2025, a group called Metro finished a big project. They moved a lot of dirt and planted 250,000 plants. Now, the land has six new ponds.
For Animals: Ducks, geese, and frogs are coming back.
For Water: The wetlands keep the river water clean.
For People: Families can walk on the sidewalk and see the birds.
One scientist from Metro saw a mother and a child walking by. The child heard the birds and said, "Quack quack!"
The project took many years to finish, but the animals are already happy.
