(AUGUST 11, 2025) Amazon has opened a very large new warehouse in Woodburn, Oregon. This warehouse is the biggest building in Oregon by size. It is five floors tall and covers 3.8 million square feet.
The warehouse is called PDX8. It is near Interstate 5 at 450 Butteville Road NE. The first packages were sent from the warehouse on June 11, 2025.
Amazon planned to open the warehouse in 2023, but it was delayed. They added new robots and technology to help move products faster.
The warehouse is very modern. It has 6,000 robots and 30 miles of conveyor belts. These robots help move shelves and packages to the workers.
Amazon now has about 1,500 workers at the Woodburn warehouse. The company plans to hire more workers. When it is very busy, like during holidays, the warehouse may have up to 3,500 workers.
The warehouse will send packages to customers in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and other nearby states. Big trucks bring products to the warehouse, and smaller trucks take packages to customers.
Woodburn city leaders are happy about the new Amazon warehouse. They say it helps the local economy and creates jobs. The warehouse also helps pay for roads and city projects.
Amazon paid more than $3 million in property taxes in 2024. The company also gave money to help build roads and improve traffic near the warehouse.
Woodburn is one of the fastest-growing cities in Oregon. City leaders say the new Amazon warehouse is very important for the city’s future.
