(JULY 28, 2025) TriMet has buses and trains around Portland. It also has money problems. The Oregon government did not give enough money to help pay for public transportation. Now TriMet must save money. It will cut (reduce) some bus and MAX train service starting in November.
TriMet needs to save $300 million. It will make some smaller cuts now. Why? It doesn't want bigger cuts later. TriMet hopes the government gives more money soon.
