(JULY 14, 2025) The Oregon Electric Railway Museum is a special place where you can ride old trolleys and learn about transportation history. The museum is in Brooks, Oregon, at Powerland Heritage Park. It is the largest trolley museum in the Pacific Northwest.
In 2025, the museum is open every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until August 31. It is also open on some Sundays during special events. Adult tickets cost $5. Youth tickets are $3, and children 11 and under ride free. You must also pay to enter Powerland Heritage Park.
Visitors can ride real trolleys from around the world. One favorite is a double-decker from England, built in 1927. Another is an open-air trolley from Australia, built in 1913. The ride is about 2 miles long. You can also visit the Hopmere Station and the car barn to see old railway cars and how they are being fixed.
The museum has over 30 trolleys from places like Portland, San Francisco, Belgium, and Hong Kong. The oldest car is from 1898. A new trolley from Portland’s MAX light rail system will join the museum in 2025.
The museum is run by volunteers. They help fix the trolleys, sell tickets, and drive the cars. You can join them or donate to help keep the trolleys running.
