(JUNE 23, 2025) Portland’s city transportation office is ready to help people ride bikes together to work or school. They call it the “City Bike Bus.” It is not a real bus. It is a group of people who ride their bikes together, like a bus route.
These rides happen on the second Wednesday of each month from now through October. The next ride is on July 9, 2025. All rides start early in the morning and end at Salmon Street Springs by 8:15 a.m.
Riders can start at the beginning of a route or join along the way. All routes are safe and use quiet streets called "neighborhood greenways." At the end, riders can enjoy coffee, breakfast treats, and music together.
The city transportation office says many people like the Bike Bus. They say, "It was fun to ride with a group. We chatted. We felt close as a community."
You can ride even if you are new to biking. The city transportation office also offers bike maintenance workshops to help you fix your bike before the ride.
If you don’t have a bike, you can use BIKETOWN. It is a bike‐share program. It has e‑bikes you can rent.
