(JANUARY 17, 2025) Oregon is getting hotter and drier. There is less snow now because of climate change. Scientists at Oregon State University say it has gotten 2°F warmer in the last 100 years. It could get 5°F hotter by 2074.
There will also be less snow. By 2100, half of the snow might be gone. More rain will fall instead.
Wildfires are another problem. Wildfire smoke makes people sick. Older people get sick more easily. Wildfires also cost a lot of money to fix.
People and businesses are trying to help. Some companies in Oregon are working to take care of the Earth. Oregon has many of them.
Planting trees in cities can help. Trees can make places cooler. They can clean the air and save energy.
Scientists are also studying wind energy from the ocean. This energy could be a clean way to give Oregon power.
Oregon is working hard to fix these problems. Climate change is a problem, but people are looking for ways to make things better.
