(NOVEMBER 27, 2024) Portland Community College (PCC) has a new worker. It is a dog. The dog's name is Bob.
Bob helps students feel calm and happy. He works at the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) on the Sylvania Campus. Bob comes to campus on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Bob’s owner is Matt Blankenship. Matt was in the Army. He got hurt and had to leave. Now Matt helps veterans at PCC. A veteran is a soldier from war.
Bob is kind and gentle. He knows when someone is sad and helps them feel better. Many students visit the VRC just to see Bob.
Each PCC campus has a VRC. They are friendly places for all students. They have free coffee and support.
