(SEPTEMBER 26, 2024) "See tracks? Think train!" That's the news from people at the MAX. The MAX is a train. It goes from Beaverton to Portland to the airport and Gresham. It also goes to Milwaukie.
The trains can be dangerous. One train weighs nearly 100 tons (200,000 pounds!). It needs a lot of time to stop.
Here are six tips to stay safe:
Pay attention. Look up from your phone around train tracks and train stations.
Move away from tracks. Stand behind white safety strips.
Look around. Look both ways at tracks.
Make yourself seen. Wear bright clothing at night or use a light.
Slow down. If you run, then you might trip and fall.
See clearly. Move umbrellas and hoods from clothing. Use your mirrors when driving.
