Protest stops traffic in Eugene

(APRIL 18, 2024) Traffic stopped on Interstate 5 in Eugene Monday morning. There wasn't an accident. There was a protest.

The protest began around 10 a.m. It stopped traffic going south. Oregon State Police sent more than 120 officers. They arrested 52 people. They took six vehicles.

Protestors wanted to show support of Palestine. There is a war between that country and the country of Israel.

There were many protests around the country. One was at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Another was at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Traffic was moving again by noon.
