(APRIL 25, 2024) Many people in Portland are homeless. What can help? Portland State University (PSU) studied this problem. It looked at different kinds of shelters:
motels
big rooms
villages (tiny houses in a group)
They looked at:
money
feelings
help
PSU says motels and villages help the most.
Why?
People have their own space.
People feel safe and respected.
People find real homes faster.
