Oregonian wins $1.3 billion lottery

(APRIL 11, 2024) Powerball is a big lottery game. A person chooses six numbers. The lottery chooses six numbers. If they are the same, then the person wins a prize.

Last week a person in Oregon won the Powerball lottery. They won a big prize. They won $1.3 billion ($1,300,000,000). 

The person bought the ticket at a Plaid Pantry in Northeast Portland. 

The person can have $621 million ($621,000,000) now. Or the person can have about $40 million each year for 30 years.

This prize is the eighth largest in the history of these games in the U.S.
