(SEPTEMBER 29, 2023) Some Oregon frogs need help. They are Northern red-legged frogs. They usually live in Forest Park. The park is in Northwest Portland.
These frogs leave the park in late winter. They move to a wet area near the Willamette River. They start new families there.
But there is a problem. The frogs must cross a busy highway. They must cross train tracks. Many frogs are killed by cars and trains.
Now volunteers help the frogs. They pick up the frogs. They move them across the highway. They move them across the train tracks.
Later the frogs go back to the park. Volunteers help them move again. Volunteers keep the frogs safe.
