Traffic deaths increase in Multnomah County

(AUGUST 11, 2023) Multnomah County shared a report. It said more people are hurt in traffic accidents. Also more of the traffic accidents affect people of color and homeless people.

Fewer cars are on the road during COVID. However the number of accidents still went up. About 60 people died in traffic accidents each year from 2015 to 2019. In 2020 and 2021, the number went up 42%.

Driving too fast was a big reason. Another reason was alcohol.
