A small town buys land to stay safe from wildfires

(JULY 28, 2023) Butte Falls is a small town in Oregon. There was a big fire there. It burned many trees and homes.

Some people in Butte Falls want to make the forest stronger. They want to keep their homes safe from fires. They want visitors to come to their town.

So Butte Falls bought land around the town. A wood company owned it. It cut a lot of trees.

Now trees are not cut. People take care of the forest. Different trees and plants grow. This helps to stop fires. It brings more visitors to the town.

People in Butte Falls work together. They make their town safe and beautiful.
