St. Helens has a sand castle contest in August

(JULY 7, 2023) Sand castles are fun to make. Some are small. Some are big. Some are simple. Some are fancy. But which kind of sand castle is best? 

There is a contest on Sand Island in the Columbia River near St. Helens. People make sand castles on Saturday, August 5. You can watch. You can also see the sand castles on Sunday, August 6. You vote for your favorite. You can make your own sand castle, too.

The cost is $15 for the weekend. That includes the boat ride to the island and a gift.
