(JUNE 23, 2023) Oregon leaders made a new law. It says the potato is now Oregon's official vegetable.
This news surprises some people. Some people wanted the onion instead. They think Idaho is the potato state. Idaho grows around 13 billion pounds of potatoes every year.
However Oregon grows a lot of potatoes too. Oregon grows more than 2.7 billion pounds of potatoes each year. And that's a lot too!
