Portland couple turn their yard into a free mini golf course for the community

(FEBRUARY 17, 2023) Many people use their yard to play games with their families. But one couple in Portland did something more. They turned their yard in a mini golf course for the whole neighborhood. It's called Twin Pines Country Club.

The idea started when the couple, Olivier and Donna, looked at their side yard. There was a lot of dead grass under two big pine trees. Then Olivier found some artificial turf. That gave him the idea for a mini golf course. The couple found other things, such as a windmill and a lion. Soon it became a complete six-hole mini golf course.

The mini golf course is free. It is open 10am-7pm every day. Anyone can play. However, there are some rules.

There is a locker with foam balls and clubs with rubber heads. The code is available by calling the phone number on the locker.

But is it really free? Yes! The couple say, "All we ask is that you treat the course well and be respectful of us and our neighbors."
