A very large tree lives on the 25th floor of a Portland building
(FEBRUARY 17, 2023) Trees do not usually grow on buildings. However, one tall building in Portland has a very tall tree.
The Pacwest Center is a building in downtown Portland. The 25th floor has a terrace. There is a pine tree on the terrace.
The owners of the building planted the tree in 1984. So it is about 40 years old. The pine tree is 40 feet tall.
There are not many trees on top of buildings. They need a lot of dirt for their roots. Together the tree and dirt weigh a lot.
Some people think this is the tallest tree on a skyscraper. It is easy to see from the street.
