Autumn rains return to Portland
(OCTOBER 21, 2022) There is usually a lot of rain in Portland. But the summer was very hot and dry this year. Some days in October set new records for high temperatures.
That is changing. The temperature is cooler. Rain is returning. There is a chance for rain every day.
Weather people have two suggestions:
Clean your gutters. (Gutters are part of a roof. They move water to the ground.) Gutters with leaves, branches, or dirt won't work. Water goes in the wrong place. This hurts the house.
Are you going to the mountains? Bring things for snow. Why? Temperatures in the mountains are colder. There will be snow, not rain. You might need chains for your car. You might need winter clothing. You might need emergency supplies.
