Daredevils rise above it all at an aerial adventure park in Seaside

(JUNE 3, 2022) Visitors to Seaside usually come for the ocean. But there is another attraction that is just as exciting. It's called High Life Adventure Park. And it looks like a lot of fun.

The High Life Adventure Park is an aerial park. Aerial means in the air. So "trails" are 20 to 40 feet off the ground. Dozens of platforms lead participants through more than 50 athletic challenges. Participants complete these obstacles to move from platform to platform. For example, there are moving bridges to cross, structures to climb, and ropes to swing from. There is even a free fall from the highest level -- while wearing a harness for safety, of course.

"It’s especially fun for groups because they get to watch as their friends and family struggle through and inevitably fall. Others will challenge one another to races and show off. The course is fun in different ways for different people, but they all seem to find some enjoyment in it," says Paul Hunter. He wrote an article about the park on thatoregonlife.com.

Upon arrival, visitors first receive safety instruction and equipment. Then they are free to explore the giant wooden structure's four levels of difficulty. Guides are available at every platform for safety. So both children and adults can participate. Everyone creates their own experience. It just depends on how they move through the park.

"In an effort to conserve Oregon’s precious coastal forests, High Life Adventure Park was built entirely out of wood milled from the land it stands on," writes Hunter. "Everything from the lobby to the supporting beams were sourced onsite, meaning no extra trees were cut down, just the ones that came down when they cleared the land."

Admission is $39 to $69 for two hours. Reservations -- and gloves -- are recommended. For more information, visit https://www.highlifeadventurepark.com
