Oregon offers new electronic COVID vaccine card

(APRIL 29, 2022) Sometimes people must prove they got the COVID vaccine. Many people show their paper card. Some show a picture of their card on their phone.

Now the Oregon Health Authority has a new electronic vaccine card. It is optional. It is not required.

An electronic vaccine card is like your paper vaccine card. It has the same information. However it shows your vaccination data as a QR code. Data comes from Oregon’s vaccination system. You show your QR code to another person. They scan the QR code. Then they see:

  • your name

  • date of birth

  • vaccination dates

  • type of vaccine

To sign up, you go to the OHA website. You enter:

  • your name

  • date of birth

  • a phone number or email address

You make a personal identification number (PIN). You get a text or email with a link. You click on the link. You enter your PIN. Then you can save your card. You can email it or print it, too.
