Hikers can see many things at the Table Rocks in Southern Oregon

(APRIL 22, 2022) Oregon has different kinds of nature. The Pacific Ocean is in the west. There are mountains and forests from north to south. The eastern part of Oregon has a desert.

Table Rocks is an unusual park near Medford. Native Americans call the land Ti'tanak. The park has two big mesas. A mesa is a mountain with a large flat top.

One mesa is Lower Table Rock. The other mesa is Upper Table Rock. The mesas are made of lava. They are almost 800 feet high. Each mesa has a trail to the top. The trails are 2.5 to 3.5 miles long roundtrip.

Spring wildflowers are along the trail. Rain makes pools of water at the top. Visitors see rare plants and animals.

The park is open all year. It is open only during the daytime. It is free. The trails are for hiking only. The park does not allow dogs, bikes, or fires.
