Portland has unusual April snowstorm

(APRIL 15, 2022) The weather on Monday was unusual. Parts of Portland received several inches of snow. 1903 was the last time we had snow in April.

Schools were closed. Many people stayed home. Tree branches fell on power lines. People lost electricity.

"It's not normal," said Colby Neuman. Colby is a meteorologist. He studies weather.

Pollution causes climate change. That leads to crazy weather. One example is snow in April. Another example is a hot summer with wildfires.
