Police try to stop street racing in Portland

(OCTOBER 15, 2021) Street racing is a problem in Portland. It is illegal. Police are trying to help.

City police worked with state police last week:

      • They saw more than 50 people racing in the streets.

      • They stopped 47 people.

      • They gave tickets to 21 people.

      • They arrested 2 people.

Street racing is dangerous. Fast cars can hurt other cars and pedestrians (people walking). They also make a lot of noise.
