(SEPTEMBER 24, 2021) Fish on the Oregon coast are common. But a moonfish? That's rare.

Its real name is opah. People found the colorful fish in July. It was on a beach near Seaside.

The fish is 3.5 feet. It's 100 pounds. This kind of fish usually lives in warmer waters.

People don't know much about this kind of fish. So Seaside Aquarium will keep the dead fish frozen. It'll use the fish to help students and scientists learn more about ocean life.
