More people become eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccination

(MARCH 29, 2021) Governor Kate Brown announced last Friday a new timeline for COVID-19 vaccinations. She believes Oregon will continue to receive more supplies from the federal government. Therefore, more people will be eligible for the vaccine beginning April 5. They include:

      • frontline workers

      • Oregonians 16 years or older with underlying health conditions

      • members of multigenerational households

Frontline workers are people who do important work with the public. This includes, for example, grocery store workers. Their work puts them at a high risk for getting sick.

Underlying health conditions are things like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and others. If these people get COVID-19, then their other health conditions might also become worse. They have a greater risk of health problems.

People who live in multigenerational households are also eligible for the vaccine on April 5. This can include, for example, a home with children, parents, and grandparents living together.

All Oregonians become eligible for the vaccine by May 1.
