Electric car crashes and batteries fly

(NOVEMBER 21, 2020) A man drives too fast in Corvallis. He drives about 100 miles per hour. He hits two trees, a power pole, and a telephone equipment box. He crashes the car.

The car is an electric car. It uses many batteries. Hundreds of batteries fly from the car. They break windows and hit homes. They start a fire inside the homes.

A tire hits an apartment building. It breaks water pipes in the wall. The water damages an apartment.

The driver runs. Police catch him three blocks away. Police tell people to be careful. The batteries are dangerous.
