Oregon scientist finds new blue color

Mas studies chemistry. He looks for new materials to make electronics.

Mas finds a new blue color in 2009. He calls it YInMn blue. It is very bright.

Mas finds another blue color in 2020. It comes from a space mineral. He calls it hibonite blue.

What does Mas do next? "I have some ideas," he says. One idea is the color red.
