(APRIL 24, 2020) The coronavirus keeps you home. However, you can visit other places in Oregon with your computer or smartphone. There are several live webcams in different parts of the state. A "webcam" is a video camera on the internet. It sends you video through the web. Here are examples.

Do you like the ocean? You can see the Oregon Coast from your home. You can look at the Lanai Cam here. The beaches are closed now. But you can watch the waves while you sit on your couch. Lanai is in Seaside. Seaside is a cute beach town. It is about 80 miles from Portland. It has shops and restaurants. (Another webcam is at Cannon Beach.)

Do you live outside of Portland? Do you want to see downtown? You can look at the Pioneer Square webcam. Pioneer Square is a city park. It is in the middle of downtown Portland. It is quiet now. But you can still see trains, cars, and people.

You can also look at Oregon State University. This webcam shows Memorial Union in Corvallis. Memorial Union is a place where students like to hang out. They meet friends there. They attend events there. Is anyone there right now? You can check this webcam again after the university is open. Then you will see many students.
