(APRIL 10, 2020) People pay income tax. A tax is money for the government. It comes from your salary. Some tax goes to the federal (national) government. Some tax goes to the state.
People pay income taxes by April 15 every year. That is the usual deadline. However, 2020 is different. The new deadline is July 15, 2020.
Why? Life is difficult now. The coronavirus and COVID-19 are big problems. Many people have no work. So the government is giving more time to pay taxes.
