Oregon requires social distancing

(MARCH 26, 2020) The coronavirus is in Oregon. The virus causes COVID-19. It is like the flu.

You get the virus from other people.

So Oregon requires "social distancing." What is that?

"Social distancing" means more space between you and other people.

This means:

  • No classes at school.
  • No public events like concerts.
  • No meetings like church or clubs.
  • No big gatherings like weddings or funerals.

It is OK to do some things. For example, you can walk outside. However, you must stay six feet away from other people who are not from your house.
