Astoria Column has a beautiful view

(APRIL 15, 2019) The Astoria Column is a tower. It is in the city of Astoria. It is near the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River.

Many people visit the tower. They climb to the top. They can see far.

People built the column in 1926 with concrete and steel. The sides have pictures. The pictures show the arrival of white explorers and settlers.

The column is 125 feet tall. It has 164 steps. There is no cost to visit. It is open from dawn (sunrise) to dusk (sunset).
