Oregon thinks about a new law for motorcycles

(FEBRUARY 22, 2019) Most traffic in Oregon is cars and trucks. But some people ride motorcycles. They use their motorcycles like cars. They must obey the same laws.

However, some people want a new law for motorcycles. Sometimes there is a lot of traffic. Sometimes cars and trucks are not moving. Some people want to ride their motorcycle between the cars and trucks. They call this "lane splitting".

Many people think it is dangerous. Some research says it is safe. The motorcycles must go slowly.

The state of California says this is OK. The states of Oregon and Utah are thinking about it.
