Oregon has a new license plate

(JANUARY 29, 2019) Every car in Oregon needs a license plate. A license plate has letters and numbers. It identifies a vehicle.

Most license plates show a tree and mountains. Some license plates have a fish. Others have a bicycle. There is a license plate with Crater Lake. There are also different plates for veterans. Veterans are people from the military.

Now Oregonians have a new picture. They can choose a picture of a Gray Whale. The new license plate is $40 more. The extra money helps Oregon State University Marine Mammal Institute. OSUMMI studies ocean animals.
