More Oregon cities say it is OK to sell marijuana

(NOVEMBER 8, 2018) Marijuana is legal in Oregon. Voters said OK in 2014. Adults can buy marijuana. They can have marijuana. They can use marijuana.

There are some limitations. People cannot use marijuana in public.

Oregon cities can make laws to about marijuana. Some do not allow marijuana in stores. Other cities are changing their minds.

There was an election on November 6, 2018. Citizens in many cities voted about marijuana. Six Oregon cities say it is OK to have a marijuana business. Some cities want money from a marijuana tax. The cities are: Ontario, Joseph, Klamath Falls, Gates, Sumpter, and Clatskanie.

Other cities said "no" to marijuana. They are: Dufur, Haines, Dunes, Culver, Imbler, Sisters, Shady Cove, Turner, Unity, and Brownsville.
