Alfie is our rescue Cairn Terrier! He was rescued from a bad breeder situation and had a terrible skin rash, MANY rotten teeth, and no idea how to use a leash or play with a toy when we got him. He is now roughly 10 years old and the sweetest and silliest pup who has finally learned how to be a dog! Liddy is our mischievous rescue cat, we got her as a kitten who was born in an alley in Marda Loop and was being fostered with all her fully black siblings. She loves belly rubs and snuggles. She tries to play with her big brother constantly (he isn’t having it) and cries at the door when he leaves (she is VERY chatty). Both have separation anxiety but keep each other calm - we typically find them snuggled together on the couch when we come home. They are the perfect pair and we absolutely adore both of them.
Aslan is a four-year-old burst of energy who is never afraid to speak his mind. It takes him a while to warm up to people but once he does he is utterly obsessed with any new friends, demanding attention, cuddles and a game of tag. He is fully trained in Spanish and may need a translator when going to the vet.
Bambi chose us by way of Eskimo kiss on the first day we met. Since then she has blossomed from a fearful pup, even startled by the crunch of a leaf, into an affectionate, resilient rice lover, who will race every dog at the park (and win!)
Bandit is Pawsitive Match alumni, we adopted him in August 2024. His favourite things in the world are long walks with swim breaks, hikes, runs and hanging out cuddling with his humans. He also has two cat siblings he loves and is very protective of.

Charlie is the best little sidekick there ever was with her lap cuddles and unwavering devotion to her person. Helly is a perfect blend of a goofy playmate and calm observer. They complete our family.
Chewie is an adventure-loving Frenchie with a big personality! Whether he’s hitting the trails for a hike, soaking up the sights at the Calgary Stampede, or demanding belly scratches from everyone he meets, he does it all with charm and a signature snort.
Chloe was adopted as a little kitten in 2021 and she is the cuddliest and sweetest little thing, so full of love and really enjoys chasing her brother through the house the settling down on your lap and baking biscuits.
Cotton is almost 10yo and was adopted from Pawsitive Match in 2024! She is the sweetest old gal with the funniest personality and the cutest little face. You would honestly never guess she is a senior as she has so much energy and loves to play with us and her sister, especially if a squeaker is involved! Thankfully she is also keeping our house as safe as can be by making sure no bird, dog, squirrel, rabbit or human goes by without us knowing!! Nicknames include: Cotton Ball, Cottie, Big Lady, Old Gal
This is Deacon, a 7 year old PMRF alumni!
He is just as cheeky as he is cute and knows how to get away with mischief! He enjoys waking up his mom by biting her forehead every morning for food (even though he already has a full bowl). He then proceeds to taunt his feline sister and screams in her face until she has enough and chases him up his cat tree. Once hes done that, he enjoys yelling at the magpies out the window. He goes to bed by 8pm so he can get up nice and early to do it all over again!
I adopted Dexter from Pawsitive Match over 11 years ago, and he’s been my loyal shadow ever since. He’s my protector, my snuggle buddy, and my very best friend. Dexter loves long walks, cold snowy days, and anything beef-flavoured. He’s not a fan of hot weather, but he’s always up for playtime with his toys or sitting outside, peacefully listening to the sounds of nature. Dexter’s heart is as big as his personality and I’m so grateful every day that we found each other.
Dolly is a big girl with an even bigger heart. Once a foster, now a forever part of the family, she quickly charmed her way into our lives (and onto the couch). Gentle, goofy, and full of love, Dolly is proof that the best things in life are rescued.
Duckie is an 11 year old Labradoodle. She is stubborn, sassy and very in tune with what her humans are feeling! At Christmas in 2023, Duckie went suddenly blind due to SARDS. It was a shock to us all - she could no longer catch treats in mid-air or run full tilt through the trees at the off leash. This obviously changed all our lives quite a bit but because of her personality she was able to adjust rather quickly. Unfortunately around Christmas 2024, she developed glaucoma and medication wasn't helping. Since she was already blind the decision was easy - she had to have her eyes removed entirely. Bouncing back from the surgery, she became her old energetic self again! She has had a tough couple years and we are hoping her last senior years are peaceful and pain free - she deserves the best!
Dune - a disgruntled tabby in a tiny mailman uniform, takes his role very seriously - until the hat goes on. Then it’s pure contempt. He delivers judgmental stares, not letters, and has vowed revenge on every doorbell in the neighborhood.
Dorothy - the round-bellied sibling, has been stuffed into a plush pumpkin costume that makes her waddle like a squash with a grudge. She’s cute enough to melt hearts - and mad enough to slash fingers.
Evie is 6yo, been with our family for 4 years, and is truly the definition of the best dog. This girl is incredibly silly, playful, energetic and adorable and it is never a dull moment in our house! Her perfect day would have endless lake swims, tennis balls, cheese + popcorn, and creating her rendition of abstract art by eating the toilet paper off the roll. And we can’t forget that you really can’t expect to have any type of food on the couch without getting this classic Evie stare (and usually drool) to accompany you. Nicknames include: Eves, Fluffy Butt, Silly Butt, Jelly Bean (when she’s jealous of any other dog getting attention, which is often).
Indy and Nigel are both 4 years old miniature dachshunds. Small in size but huge in personality! They spend their days sunbathing, snuggling, and dashing around with their noses to the ground on important sniffing missions.
Jasper is a Mexican rescue, about 2 years old. He is very affectionate and playful, and loves going for walks with his sister Daisy.
Juno a sweet 2 year old Siamese cross. She has brought so much joy, love, and laughter into our house since bringing her home 1.5 years ago. Juno is a curious, social cat who loves sunbathing, snuggling (and drooling), and following her favourite humans around the house.
When Kala (previously Tokyo!) arrived at Pawsitive Match she was quiet, timid and unsure of the world around her. After she came home, she blossomed into a confident diva who captures everyone’s hearts. She has transformed into a dog park lover, avid hiker, and professional cuddler. Kala reminds us every day that sometimes the shyest souls become the most confidant companions!
Kala (Della) was adopted in December 2024 after nursing her Banded Peaks puppies. She goes between being the best dog around to being the worst in 2.5 seconds, especially if there are those nasty deer or squirrels around. Hahaha. Despite her mature physic, she is still a puppy at heart and needs some experience before she grows into the perfect girl. Her sister Ruby, who also is a PM alum from 2013, has been teaching her how to become just that, so we have no doubt she will succeed!
Meet Kisses!
He's a gentle, goofy sweetheart with a heart of gold—and the best hug-muffin you could ask for. True to his name, he loves giving kisses and receiving them. Friendly with every dog he meets and endlessly patient with kids, Kisses has brought so much joy and calm into our home. Even though he's been dealing with a few health challenges lately, his tail never stops wagging. We feel so lucky to have adopted him—and now we'd love your help getting him into the 2026 calendar! A vote for Kisses is a vote for kindness (and maybe a few extra treats 🦴).
We rescued Koko at the tender young age of 4 months, in December, 2009. She was too small to breed. We were told she had a heart murmur too. It was an easy decision to say yes to bringing her home from Trochu, AB. When we asked for a picture of her, she looked like a little Pomeranian stuffy. Who could say no to that?
Koko has brought so much joy into our hearts from the moment we held her tiny body in our hands. She was all black, except for a tiny marking on her back toe, and a little flash of white on her chest. Koko is a gentle soul, quiet, curious, smart, and faithful. With each passing year we were so grateful, watching her grow, and staying healthy.
She welcomed another tiny Pomeranian roomie, Bella, who has since passed five years ago at age 11. Koko taught Bella the ropes.
Fast forward to the rest of her story. On August 21, 2025, our dear sweet Koko, is celebrating her 16th Birthday. And no heart murmur was ever found. We feel so blessed to have made the right decision to take this beautiful dog into our lives, never knowing what the outcome might be. Now with her grey face and chest, she is a daily reminder of living and loving one another, one day at a time. It's all we can ever do on this earth.
Lady Grey is the definition of love! She is extremely sweet, she loooves everyone and she absolutely does not believe in personal space. She loves to be as close to you as possible. She is the queen of the house! She is also a little rascal, she would steal your food if you are not paying attention, she knows how to open the cabinets to get to her treats (she is sneaky ahah). She is just the sweetest kitty!
Merlin is a bundle of energy and excitement and the most happiest go lucky little guy ever. Rescued from Pawsitive Match in 2023 on an import from California, Merlin has been lighting up my life ever since!
Mizu is a curious and charming feline with a personality as unique as her name, which means water in Japanese. Whether she's lounging in a sunny window, laying beside us on the couch, chasing her favorite toy, demanding pets or supervising household activities with quiet confidence, Mizu brings warmth and joy to every moment. With her expressive eyes and independent spirit, she's not just a cat—she’s family.
Hello. My name is Niko. I am a purebred male Ragdoll. I came into the Pawsitive Match shelter in 2024, after my owner sadly passed away. It was a confusing and sad time for me.
One day a lady that volunteers with the cats every week came in to care for me, and the other kitties. She knew that I was lonely, and that I needed another home where I could eventually find happiness again. She came back week after week, and something magical happened. Then one day we fell in love with each other. I think we were destined to be together.
This lady was telling other volunteers that she kept dreaming about me, and could not stop thinking about me. I put on my best manners, showing her how quiet, calm, friendly, and good boy that I was.
Well, dreams do come true when you wish hard enough. It has been one year since the lady and her husband adopted me. I have a roomie too! She is a five pound female Pomeranian dog, Koko. I am a big boy at 13 pounds, and 24 inches long. I try not to get the zoomies around her because she's 16 years old, and not into that kind of frenetic random activity.
I love my new family so much. Now that I have a second chance at having a wonderful life, I am grateful. To be truthful, I'm not that quiet. I greet my family at the door with loud meows, and follow them around the house everyday. What I am though is gentle, sweet, affectionate, and loyal. My favourite hobby is lounging around on the coffee table, watching Blue Jays baseball with my people.
Thank you Pawsitive Match from the bottom of my big, white paws.
Meet Opal! Or Opi, or Opi one Kanobi or Opalescent or Opalicious! Opal was a foster win from Tails To Tell in Crossfield. Opal came to us with 3 other very sick kittens. Like many shelter animals, Opal had a rough start in life, but she is a fighter! She is quirky and spicy and full of personality. We can't imagine our home without her!
Pita is a rescue who came to our family after a 5 year break since losing our last fur baby. He is a lab/husky cross but has also been known to show genetic traits of kangaroo and coyote in our minds. He is the glue that keeps our family together and keeps us laughing every day. He's so smart that when he decided that wearing a cone wasn't an option for him after getting snipped, we put big boy underpants on him to keep him from licking his wound. This photo captures his joy for life and how much we adore him. He is our first rescue and most certainly won't be our last.
Once a timid pup roaming the streets of Mexico, Sauce began his Canadian adventure as a foster with Pawsitive Match and was quickly adopted by a friend of his foster parent (a classic “foster fail” scenario.) In those early days, he was wide eyed and nervous startled by every noise and unsure of the world around him.
With patience, cuddles, and a whole lot of treats, Sauce settled into his new life like a pro and has blossomed into the confident, cuddly (with a dash of sass) character he is today. He passed puppy school with flying colours and has fully embraced the good life: patrolling his block, hoarding a collection of toys, and enjoying an unlimited supply of treats.
These days, the pampered prince runs the streets of Marda Loop, guards his yard like the boss he is, and lounges on plush beds with a rotating list of nicknames. (Sauceboss, SaucyBee, Sauclebozzle & Sauclebee to name a few).
Shadow is my little soulmate, he is extremely cuddly and playful. He always runs to the door to say hi the second I get home. He loves to be held like a baby or like a little sac of potatoes. If he wants to be picked up he scratches my pants until I actually pick him up. And he is just the sweetest! He is a purring machine that loves to come near my face and just purr and cuddle
Snoop is a Pawsitive Match Alumni he came to our family back in the spring of 2018. He has been a lovely addition to our family and a cherished companion to our two boys who have loved growing up alongside him. He lives for camping and hiking but equally loves snuggling and snoring on his humans. Thank You to Pawsitive Match for the important work you do.
All 3 of our girls are rescues! Penny (Border Collie) was rescued in Saskatchewan when she was about 1 and is 13 years young in November. Goldy (Jack Russel) was rescued as a puppy off the streets in Greece and turns 6 in Sept and Stevie (black lab looking) turns 7 in Oct and was rescued in 2021 through Pawsitive Match (foster win!). These three all have very different personalities but are all love bugs! Penny is the "fun police" and makes sure we know when shes hungry (always). Goldy now lives with our daughter with 2 feline friends and has the time of her life exploring, hiking and swimming. Stevie is still nippy but loves immensely and is incredibly loyal to her people. She loves to play, bark at the tv, anything that squeaks and chase rocks in the river. Our lives wouldn’t be the same without these three girls and we are SO happy to have rescued them all.
Sunny is a 6 month old Aussie Mountain dog Aussie Shepard/Bernese. She is very smart! We have lots of fun adventures and everyone wants to pet her!
Hi, I’m T-Bow!
My parents adopted me from Pawsitive Match in January 2017. I kept my adopted name T-Bow, however, I am otherwise knows as Baby, Teebs, Bubs, Monkey, Angel Baby, Lovey and list goes on… I go with it.
As I am in my golden years, I can’t move around like I used to. You can find me cruising the neighbourhood in my stroller (my mom was able to find one big enough for me!) or lounging at the front door being a furry security guard. No matter what I’m doing, I love being with my humans and my humans love being with me.
I live in the moment and wake up every day with a pawsitive outlook. After all, life’s been pretty wonderful!
Theo was adopted from Pawsitive Match in 2021 with his sister Chloe, he is definitely a bundle of energy, he is a little tank when he comes running down the hallway it sounds like a heard of rhino's. Happy to chase his toys around then cuddling up with momma for some snuggles.
Zeus is a Shepherd cross one of 6 puppies surrendered with mom only days after he was born. He was part of Everly’s litter. His litter name was Johnny Gaudreau but we choose Zeus- a Greek god. He is a gentle giant at 85lbs and loves to give kisses and receive bum scratches as he goes through your legs.

Pawsitive Match is getting a new website!!!
We are over the moon to be working with a developer to create and launch our new website. Due to the timing of the calendar contest launch and it overlapping with the decommission of our old website and launch of our new website, we needed to find an alternative solution to host this years contest.
We will start selling the calendars once voting is done and winners are contacted (Starting in October).
Calendars are expected to arrive mid-November.
We will again offer multiple pickup locations around the city, and offer paid shipping for those outside of Calgary.
