I started my career as a Cardiac Care Unit nurse in 1988 at Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. And although I have changed positions, hospitals, countries and schools, my primary focus has always been to provide quality care that results in optimal health and wellness.
My move into school health 5 1/2 years ago allowed me to positively affect the health habits of the next generation through education and support. This led me to become certified as a yoga instructor and social emotional learning facilitator. I combine traditional medical practices with a holistic approach that treats the body, mind and spirit. As the mother of five very different individuals, I understand many of the challenges our teenagers face and will work closely with you to meet their individual health needs.
Services that are offered in the health office include:
Care of emergency sickness or injury that occurs in school
Communicable disease prevention and control

Perform annual health screenings (yearly height, weight and blood pressure, rotating basis for vision, hearing and scoliosis)
Coordinate sports paperwork and conduct sports physicals in May and November
Administer medications
Review immunizations
In addition to these services, meditation is offered in the health office every morning before school at 7:50am.
