Welcome

In this course, you will complete projects to help meet the CTE Standards for Career Ready Practice (read through these standards below).

  1. You will learn about leadership and how to be a leader.
  2. You will learn about soft skills (also called employability skills) that employers are looking for.
  3. These skills are helpful in your education and later in the workplace.
  4. You will build your own professional portfolio with new certifications that will help give you a leg up in any career.

Class Structure

Each Learning Period is split into 3 chunks covering 2 weeks of work each, and should take roughly 5 hours of your time each week.

You will have options to choose for each 2-week module. In general, one option will be focused on earning certifications and completing training while the other is focused more on creating, reflecting, and hands-on projects or work-based learning. You are encouraged to try some of each.

You will earn 5 credits during the Semester, with activities and assignments scheduled and due in 2-week intervals. Select the Learning Period 1 or Weeks 1-2 link in the navigation bar to begin.

Pay attention to due dates- late work is not accepted after the end of each Learning Period. You will turn in your work by submitting links, files, and answering questions through a google form at the end of each Module.

Grading Policy

For the most part, every assignment is credit/no credit. Each 2-week module is worth 100 points.

100-80 = A

79-60 = B

59-40= C

39-20 = D

19-0 = F

Choice and Performance Flexibility

I try to vary the method of content delivery, so that all learning styles are represented, and you have opportunities to read, listen, or watch. If you have a need not represented, or an idea or request, please contact me.

I encourage students to also vary the method of completing work. Any of your assignments can be completed in any of the following formats, and if it's not on this list, contact me for approval.
