Depending on the authentication method selected by the institution, registered users are able to log into the platform with either their email id and password or through their single sign-on (SSO) provider. Please note that when URL links are launched directly from the laboratory information system (LIS) and user single sign on credentials are valid, secondary re-authentication is not required.
When login in using username/password based authentication, the following errors may be observed:
Once email id and password are entered correctly, user receives a one-time passcode through the email
User is asked to enter the one-time passcode to login to the system
Once User enters the correct passcode, User is logged into the system
For institutions not performing single sign on integration, users have the option to reset their password.
When the user clicks on the “Forgot Password?” link, the system will ask for the email id and send a unique 6 digit code to reset password. (Figures 1, 2, and 3)
The user will be prompted to enter a unique 6 digit code sent to their email. (Figure 4)
Once the user inputs a valid six-digit passcode, they will be directed to the change password screen. (Figure 5)
Password rules are designed to follow NIST criteria:
Minimum password length is 8 characters.
Password must consist of alpha, numeric characters and symbols e.g. @#$% and must include upper and lower case.
Passwords cannot be reused within a cycle of 5 passwords.
When enabled by the institution, external organizations can request registration to the platform to begin submitting cases to the institution. This action is performed directly through the main landing page/login screen, with new registrations then approved by system administrators. Alternatively, administrators can also allow for external institutional access directly from the administrative panel.
Option #1 Registration from main landing page/login screen
Click on "Register" link to navigate to Registration screen.
Provide a valid email and click on "Register" button to receive verification email.
Check on "Verify this email" to verify the mail and navigates to Change Password screen.
Change the password (follow password policy) and click on Confirm to create the new password.
Now enter the Registered email and newly created password and press "Login" button to signin to the PathPresenter.
New User Invitation
Administrator can invite the users to the platform by sending an Invitation email. Users can verify their email address through the link provided in the email and create their password and start using their account. Role of the user is defined by Admin and access limit is defined per role.
