My name is Erika Emerick, and I am honored and excited to be the Assistant Principal/Student Services Coordinator of Port Allegany School District. I grew up in nearby Cameron County, received my teaching degree in Special Education from Lock Haven University, a master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University, and my administrative certification from the University of Denver.
I began my teaching career in Pennsylvania, then after a year moved to Colorado, where I stayed as a teacher and administrator for eleven years. I moved back to Pennsylvania six years ago, and I have been in Port Allegany for the last 4 years. I am looking forward to another productive and exciting school year, surrounded by a wonderful community, staff, and administrative team.
As the district Student Services Coordinator, I am in charge of services for Special Education, Gifted Education, On-line Education, Section 504 Service Agreements, English Language Learners, and coordinating services for students experiencing homelessness or students in Foster Care. If you have a student receiving services in any of the above categories, or whom you suspect might need services in any of the above categories, please contact me with any concerns or questions that you might have.
