Step 3: See what it's like to Join a Class Like a Student

One way of getting students into your class will be to invite them by a direct email entering their email address into the system. Another way would be to use the "Class Code" feature. You can see what this might look like by following the steps below.

Join a Class with the Class Code:

1. Go to classroom.google.com. If it is your first login, be sure to select your role as Teacher (You will still be able to join as a student in a course.)

2. Click the + on the top right of the page to Join Class.

3. Enter the Class Code: 5ps5hfm and click Join.

Steps 4-9: Learning Resources

Use the Google for Education: Teacher Center (linked below) to complete Steps 4-9 from the Getting Started in Google Classroom Checklist above. The Teacher Center has videos and print guides allowing you choice in how you learn about setting up your classroom, creating assignments, having students join, grading and feedback.

Google for Education: Teacher Center is the best place to find tutorials ranging from the basics and getting started to answering in-depth questions about Google Classroom.
