ROTC

To help today’s youth meet life’s challenges – The Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) program mission is to instill in High School students the values of CITIZENSHIP, SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT. We are able to accomplish these aims by: Promoting Patriotism, Developing informed and responsible citizens, Promoting high school completion, Promoting the pursuit of higher education, Promoting community service, Developing a higher degree of personal honor, self-reliance, self-discipline and leadership, Providing incentives to live a healthy and drug free life, and by providing information on the military service as a possible career. Cadets who choose to continue their education may receive special consideration for NROTC scholarships. Many of these scholarships will pay for two, three, or four years of tuition, books, and fees at numerous universities and colleges and allow cadets to pursue studies in various technical and non-technical majors. Cadets are better behaved, have a higher attendance record, are role models for others to follow, have higher self-esteem, and develop positive life skills. Cadets will learn the value of TEAMWORK and individual accomplishments by belonging to NJROTC. Cadets participate in a number of outside or extra-curricular activities throughout the school year and during the summer months. These opportunities are designed to stimulate learning by hands-on experience and to reinforce classroom instruction. Some of these activities in include: parades, community service & events, academic, athletic, drill, marksmanship and orienteering events and competitions. Cadets may be able to attend LEADERSHIP TRAINING for 1 week during the summer months. NJROTC will give you the required PE credit needed to graduate.
