What is happening?
In preparation for NAPLAN Online in 2019, all CEDP schools will complete a NAPLAN Online Readiness Test in Term 3 of 2018. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run’ for schools to assess their technology ahead of NAPLAN Online. The readiness test is not an assessment of student ability. This test is a 1.5 hour literacy and numeracy test that will provide a sample of the NAPLAN Online experience.
Who will be involved?
Each CEDP school will assign two staff members as a NAPLAN Coordinator and Test Administrator. Training for the NAPLAN Online Readiness test will be provided for the Test Administrator and NAPLAN Coordinator at the Aengus Kavanagh Centre. Following this training the Test Administrator and NAPLAN Coordinator will provide training in their own schools for teachers who will be involved in the NAPLAN Online Readiness test.
Every student from grades three, five, seven and nine from each CEDP school will complete this will participate in the NAPLAN Online readiness test in 2018.
Why is this happening?
The purpose of the NAPLAN Online Readiness test is to ensure schools and student are best prepared NAPLAN Online in 2019. NAPLAN Online will benefit schools in a variety of ways (see figure 1).

When is this happening?
Schools will complete an Omnibus and Numeracy test during Weeks 5 - 7 of Term 3, 2018.
How can I prepare students?
Students, teachers and parents are invited to use the demonstration site to familiarise themselves with the type of questions, and related functionalities available in the NAPLAN Online assessment.
