Meet Hillside's Home Liaison
Hello! My name is Mrs. Rohal and I am the Home Liaison at Hillside Middle School! My role is to help reduce the barriers to student success; including but not limited to addressing attendance concerns, providing resource information to students and parents, offering social emotional support, and assisting in other programs and activities to promote student and family engagement within the school setting.

ADHD - Students will learn how their ADHD symptoms can impact their social, emotional, and academic development and learn effective coping skills to improve in all of these areas.
Anger Management - Do you feel that you could use some help expressing your anger appropriately? This group helps you recognize your triggers and helps you develop skills for managing your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors more effectively.
Family Dynamics - Our families come in a variety of forms: single parent, blended, divorced, etc. This group helps students cope with those issues encountered in the modern family.
Grief - This group is for students who have lost a friend or family member and would like additional support to get back to feeling better. This group supports students through the stages of grief in an effort to reach a “new normal”.
LGBTQ - This group engages in a variety activities and discussions to help those students in the LGBTQ community.
Self-Esteem - Do you put yourself down a lot? Are you overly hard on yourself and consistently focus on the negatives in your life? If so, this group will help you learn skills to emphasize the positive traits that others see in you.
Social Skills - Do you have trouble making and/or keeping friends? Are you shy and reserved and have a difficult time joining new activities? This group will help you learn skills that will make you feel more comfortable in social situations.
Stress/Anxiety - Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed with school and life? Are you diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder or feel that you are more stressed than others? In this group you will learn how to identify your life stressors and learn and practice skills and techniques that will help you reduce your stress and anxiety.
