Biology Honors

Biology 1H is the 2nd of the 3 courses of the required NGSS science sequence. An Honors course is presented at a level to meet and exceed college entrance requirements for lab science. The course is designed for high ability students and includes the study of living organisms and the use of laboratory investigations while using inquiry techniques to develop biological concepts. Subject matter includes molecular and cellular biology, heredity and evolutionary biology, human biology and ecology. Students in honors courses will be exposed to various scientific elements of which will lead them to an high understanding of scientific fundamentals and will promote their scientific writing and academic register skills.

Note: Animals may be dissected in this course. Alternatives to dissection are available.
