Bev (Schumm) Barkley

Beverly lettered in Track all four years of high school.  She was the State Champion in Shot Put in 1978 and 1980.  Beverly was Runner-up in Shot Put in 1977 and 1979.  She also qualified for the state meet in Discus her senior year.  Beverly currently holds the school record in Shot Put with a throw of  41’ 1 1/2”.  In 1980, Beverly scored 212 individual points for the Panthers.  

Beverly currently holds the Junior High record for discus (95’ 11 ½”) and Shot Put (37’ 3”).  She was the Midwest Athletic Conference Champion in Shot Put during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.  Beverly was District Champion in Shot Put during her sophomore and junior year and was District Runner-Up her senior year.  

She was Mercer County Champion in Shot Put and Discus during her junior and senior seasons.
